We’re excited to begin "The One and Only Ruby" with Mystery Reader #1 today! If you’d like to follow along, the link has been shared with families through Infinite Campus.
⭐ One special note: Our kindergarten and PreK students did not receive a copy of the novel today. Unfortunately, our final shipment of books has been delayed due to shipping supply chain issues. We’re hopeful they will arrive soon.
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding—we can’t wait to have everyone reading along together!

This Tuesday is another Buffalo Luke's Spirit Night for Hill City. We hope you will join us!

Mrs. Gilleland shared, "I am passing the Hawk to Ms Jamie. As a teacher new to Hill City, Ms Jamie is always supporting me. Whether it's helping me find books (and then delivering them to my room) or answering my endless questions, Ms Jamie is always willing to help me with a smile on her face. Her kind spirit makes every day better. " Congratulations, Ms. Jamie!
Hello Hill City families!
We are excited to share our first-ever Hawks Read One Book program!
On Monday, every Hill City family will receive a copy of the novel "The One and Only Ruby" by Katherine Applegate. If you have multiple children at Hill City, the book will go home with your oldest sibling—and it’s yours to keep! A flyer and pacing guide will be included.
Families are welcome to read independently, but we’ll also have daily Mystery Readers sharing recordings of the designated pages—just like an audiobook! The audio links will be shared through Infinite Campus.
Students are encouraged to participate in daily trivia questions based on the previous night’s reading. (There will be PRIZES!) We’ll finish the novel just in time to celebrate Read Across America on Friday, March 6th!
We can’t wait to read with you!

We’re celebrating our amazing counselor, Mrs. Bradley—an essential member of Team Hawk who supports our students’ well-being and academic success. We also love her Leader in Me lessons! Thank you for all you do, Mrs. Bradley!

They counted how many friends liked each cookie, figured out which one was liked the most, and which was liked the least.
Now that’s some sweet math!

While the fog hangs outside, it’s bright, busy, and full of learning inside. Let’s have a great day!

This kindergartner in Ms. Jenkins’ class has officially mastered her kindergarten sight words. Way to go, Raelyn—we are so proud of your hard work!

Mrs. Roper, one of our kindergarten teachers, has been named Teacher of the Month, and Mrs. Chapman, our secretary/bookkeeper, is our Staff Member of the Month! Thank you both for your dedication, kindness, and the positive impact you make on Team Hill City Hawk each day. We appreciate you!

Her PreK students wrapped up week one of their author study on Laura Numeroff with a fun (and delicious) pancake feast!

Any changes to the school schedule, including a closure, delay, or digital learning day, will be communicated at a later time as conditions are further evaluated.
