Title I Reward Schools are identified as the top 5% of Title I schools in Georgia making the most progress in improving the performance of all students. This recognition is based on a comparison of content mastery scores from the most recent two years of reported statewide assessment data.
This remarkable achievement reflects the hard work, dedication and commitment of our educators, students and families. It is a testament to the strong teaching and leadership happening every day at both schools.

Observing Constitution Week!
Our second-, third-, and fourth-grade students learned more about the U.S. Constitution in the media center this week. They explored the history and importance of this remarkable founding document, signed on September 17, 1787—239 years ago!

Ms. Sultan’s class has been moving & grooving while learning their numbers! They are counting forward and backward to 120 with some fun counting songs. Great job, mathematicians!
Dot Day in Kindergarten!
Mrs. Abbott’s kindergartners celebrated Dot Day on September 15th! They read The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, created their own dot artwork, sorted and tallied dot candy, and used candy to make 2D shapes. What a fun day of creativity and learning!

At their art station, our little artists drew and painted beautiful leaves. Maybe all this fall-inspired creativity will encourage Mother Nature to send us some cooler temperatures soon!

Jon Klassen’s amazing book "I Want My Hat Back" was a wonderful springboard for learning in the media center this week!
Our first graders practiced “reading between the lines” as they made inferences about the story and its characters.
Meanwhile, our PreK and kindergarten friends focused on the importance of honesty and explored the consequences of lying.
We also have something new to share! All of our first graders are testing out our new Library Bags. These bags will help carry their library books and, hopefully, provide an extra layer of protection—especially from those sneaky water bottle leaks!

Pumpkins + Math = Learning Fun!
Mrs. Roper and Ms. Jenkins’ kindergarten classes practiced positional words with a hands-on pumpkin sticker activity. Students showed what they knew by placing their pumpkins in the correct positions!
