What a week for Mrs. Anderson’s Pre-K students!

From pumpkin experiments and spooky snacks to fun dress-up days and creative costumes, their week was packed with excitement, laughter, and learning! They wrapped up Red Ribbon Week with a grand finale at Touch-a-Truck!

Friends from Mrs. Richards' Pre-K and Ms. Georgia's class had a blast exploring and sitting in the big trucks!

This fun event reminds us that a bright future starts with healthy choices today!

What an AMAZING way to wrap up Red Ribbon Week at Hill City Elementary!

We ended the week with some incredible special guests who helped our students make an important connection: The healthy, drug-free choices we make today help build the happy, healthy, and successful futures we dream about tomorrow!

Whether it's having a career we love, setting goals, or getting to operate some pretty AMAZING vehicles and equipment, it all starts with making good choices, working hard, and beginning with the end in mind!

A HUGE THANK YOU to the wonderful community partners who made this day so memorable for our students!

👏 TMA Grading – For showing us the coolest remote grading machine!

👏 Roland Grading – For giving students a peek inside those fabulous BIG dump trucks!

👏 Pickens Sheriff's Office – For the exciting drone presentation!

👏 Officer Roach – Our wonderful Campus Law Enforcement Officer, for letting students experience the back seat of a cruiser and try out the fascinating PA system!

👏 Roland Tire – For sharing the impressive tools on the service truck, especially that wild bead blaster!

👏 City of Jasper Fire Department – For letting students explore the inside of a fire truck and even experience an actual run-through!

We are so grateful for each of you taking the time to invest in our students and help make this an unforgettable learning experience. Our students had an absolute BLAST!

In the spirit of fall, Ms. Estrada’s ESOL students enjoyed reading "Creepy Crayon!" by Aaron Reynolds.

Students engaged in Deep Comprehension Analysis of Critical Details as they explored the story. They brought their learning to life by illustrating and retelling the story, identifying and highlighting key sequencing and transitional words along the way. What a fun and engaging way to build reading comprehension, strengthen language skills!

What do you do in kindergarten when a full moon, Red Ribbon Week, and Halloween all come together? You make learning extra FUN!

Mrs. Abbott’s kindergartners stayed engaged, curious, and busy learning with some intriguing pumpkin-themed science and math activities. Hands-on learning is the BEST kind of learning!

Mrs. Tippens’ kindergarten class had a SPOOKTACULAR time with our Halloween Sink or Float experiment! Students made predictions, tested Halloween-themed objects, and discovered what sank and what floated. Learning is so much fun!

Ms. Sultan’s first graders showed up in their camo for “Enlist and Execute” Day of Red Ribbon Week! They’re looking strong and ready to take on the future as they think about their goals and all the amazing things they can accomplish. #RedRibbonWeek
