Hip hip hooray! State testing is officially over, and it was time to celebrate our amazing third and fourth graders yesterday and all of their hard work with a good old-fashioned carnival!

Students enjoyed lots of fun games, delicious cotton candy, and everyone’s favorite — the dunk tank! Thank you to Mr. Billy, Coach Black, Ms. Emma, and Mrs. Collins for being such great sports and braving the cold plunge!

These students were caught practicing Habit 6: Synergize-Together is Better! Students have learned the habit of working together by being humble and valuing the strengths of others, listening to the ideas of others, and cooperating to achieve a common goal. #LeaderInMe

For Fine Arts Night, fourth grade students created Blackout Poetry! This type of found poetry uses words written by someone else to create something brand new. Students carefully selected words for their poems, boxed them in, and blacked out the remaining text.

Here’s Mrs. Connelly’s ELA class of poets working hard in the media center with Mrs. Hardison and Mrs. Jamie as they stretched their creativity and discovered the power of found words!

Fine Arts Night was fabulous!

Thank you to all the families who joined us for this special evening celebrating the creativity of our Hawks! Our students’ artwork was stunning, their poetry was delightful, and the music from our Hill City Harmonious Hawks put smiles on faces all around.

It is wonderful to see our students express themselves artistically through picture, word, and song. We are so proud of the talent, creativity, and hard work that was on display.

NOW is the Time to Return Your Library Books!

All library books have been due for a couple of weeks, and we still have over 400 books out! It’s time to go on a book hunt—check under beds, in backpacks, in cars, and around the house.

Please return your books now. We need to pack up the entire library for upcoming summer construction.
