Congratulations, Cason, Ellie, and Madelyn!
These outstanding students are recipients of the Perseverance Award! We are so proud of your determination and hard work. You’ve shown us all what it means to stick with the tough stuff until success is yours.

Congratulations to Anna!
Deputy Roach has selected this superstar fourth grader as the Campus Law Enforcement Student of the Month for January! As a member of our Safety Patrol, Anna serves as a greeter in the lobby, where she brightens everyone’s day with her hospitality, a big smile, and a cheerful "Good morning!" Thank you, Anna, for being "Determined to Make a Difference" at Hill City!

And the Hawk goes to... Mrs. Roper! Congratulations, Samantha Roper!
Kristi Kaley has recognized Mrs. Roper with these kind words:
"She genuinely loves her students. She creates a positive learning environment, and her energy is contagious!"

Chomp! Mrs. Abbott's kindergartners are practicing the concepts of greater than ( > ) and less than ( < ). After plenty of practice building and comparing numbers to determine quantity, they’ve started learning how to use these important math symbols. Of course, a hungry alligator mouth that’s always ready to gobble up the bigger number makes it more fun!

Congratulations to Catalina and Harper! These two super star readers in Mrs. Abbott's kindergarten have mastered their grade level sight word list. Keep up the great work and enjoy those new books from the Book Vending Machine!

Way to persevere!
This week's Perseverance Award recipients have shown us what it means to have the right mindset. They remind us that with determination and effort, we can do hard things. Let’s give them a big round of applause!

Congratulations, Evelyn, on earning a visit to the Book Vending Machine! As a kindergartner in Mrs. Bryson's class, she's mastered the first-grade sight words! Now, she is tackling fluency and comprehension passages. Way to grow as a reader, Evelyn!

More sweet 100th Day fun! Mrs. Gartrell's kindergartners celebrated the 100th Day last week by creating a snack with 10 groups of 10. Learning math has never been so tasty!

Are architects mathematicians? They certainly need strong math skills! Mrs. Collins' 4th-graders put their math skills to work by "building" multiplication array cities. Each structure represents a multiplication problem.

Be safety conscious, dress warm, and we look forward to seeing our students tomorrow, January 21st, at our normal class start times. The district will continue to monitor the weather closely and will send out notifications if something changes.

Snowflake STEM in the Computer Lab!
Our students have been hard at work designing unique snowflakes using a variety of building materials. Their focus? Symmetry! Just like in nature, their goal was engineer a snowflake to include a perfect line of symmetry. It's fun to see their creativity and problem-solving skills in action!

Tasty Fractions!
Ms. Osborn's first-graders discovered just how delicious math can be! By dividing brownies into halves, fourths, eighths, and beyond, these young mathematicians think fractions are pretty sweet!

Check out the latest news from our PTO!

Everybody loves a parade! Today marks the 100th Day of School, and our kindergartners celebrated in style! Dressed to impress, we cheered them as they marched the hallway! Here’s to 100 days of learning, growing, and fun!

We look forward to seeing our students tomorrow, January 16th, at our normal class start times.

Brrr! "Sneezy the Snowman" by Maureen Wright had Mrs. Smith's, Ms. Sultan's, and Mrs. Tippen's first graders giggling. Sneezy is freezing, but his attempts to warm up turn him into a puddle! Using their imaginations, students added their own twists to the plot, writing why their snowmen melted. To add to the fun, they painted their very own “melty” snowmen!

Do you want to build a snowman? Yes, we do!
Mrs. Anderson's PreK students practiced their skills with Playdough spheres, constructing frosty friends in the media center. Tomorrow, they hope to level up to the real deal—fingers crossed for some snow!
