Congratulations to Mrs. Jamie Richards!
Mrs. Jamie has been named Hill City Elementary’s Paraprofessional of the Year, and we couldn’t be more proud! As our amazing media center paraprofessional, she keeps things running smoothly while also jumping in wherever she’s needed—from breakfast and lunch coverage in the cafeteria to helping with dismissal at the end of the day.
Mrs. Jamie does it all with a smile and is always the first to offer help to both students and staff. Her kindness, dedication, and positive attitude make a difference every single day. Team Hawk is better because of her!

Congratulations to Mrs. Jennifer Connelly on being named Hill City Elementary’s Teacher of the Year!
Mrs. Connelly is an outstanding fourth-grade ELA teacher who consistently inspires her students to grow as readers and writers. She also serves as a member of our school’s Lighthouse Committee and as chair of the Powerful Partnerships Committee, which both play an integral role in our Leader in Me initiative. Her passion, commitment, and care for her students and the faculty and staff make her an incredible part of our team.

Thursday, March 12th: Imagine your book as a movie. Create a movie poster, or create a detailed casting list and tagline.

Part of the fun of reading "The One and Only Ruby" together was answering the daily trivia question about the previous night’s pages. The more correct answers, the better the chance of winning one of 30 prizes—ten $10 Book Fair gift certificates and twenty 3-D printed Ruby the elephant!
The winners were so excited! Reading really pays off in so many ways.

It’s time to pass the Hawk again, and the honor goes to… Coach Black!
Ms. Jamie shares that he may try to quietly fly under the radar, but that’s impossible. Every student knows his name and loves seeing him in the hallways and at P.E. He faithfully manages bus duty morning and afternoon—rain or shine—making sure everything runs smoothly. He’s also one of the most anticipated and highly sought-after CAMP days!
Thank you for being such a positive male role model, Coach Black. We appreciate you!
