Telehealth, Vision, and Dental Services

Pickens County School District is pleased to announce that a grant has been awarded to open a School-Based Health Center (SBHC). This center will provide PCSD students, staff, and household members with affordable access to comprehensive healthcare services. The SBHC will be located in an adjacent building to Pickens Junior High School and will serve all campuses.  More information will be made available soon!

In-school, full-service dental care is provided by the Help a Child Smile Mobile Dental Program. Childhood cavities are more common than asthma. Infection from tooth decay can lead to other health problems.

Help a Child Smile will visit your child's school in the fall and spring of the school year, plus additional follow-up visits as needed. Dental care at school includes a complete exam, x-rays, cleaning, fluoride, sealants, and cavity treatment when needed. If your child does not have a regular dentist you can sign them up at www.myschooldentist.com, call 770-760-7900, or complete the appropriate dental consent form on the Documents & Forms webpage and turn it in to your child's school.  If your child already has a dentist, you should keep going to that dentist.
