Welcome to my class!
I would like to welcome you to my page. You will find information here concerning what we are working on in class and links to websites that your students are using. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.
I currently live in Blue Ridge with my husband Jeremy, and sons John and Liam, along with our three dogs Pork Chop, Sierra, and Max.
I graduated from Pickens County High School in 2002. After completing my Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2010, I transferred to and graduated from Longwood University with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education in 2012. With the support and encouragement of wonderful teachers here at Hill City Elementary, I became Special Education certified in July 2017. In November 2021, I completed my Masters of Science in Special Education through Western Governors University.
After working with elementary students in Virginia as a substitute and then as a paraprofessional. I began working at Hill City Elementary as a paraprofessional in August 2016. The following year, I was hired as a Special Education teacher. I believe that all students can learn, but each student blossoms in their own time. I love watching students grow and become self-assured in their own abilities and adopt the growth mindset needed when things get tough.
