Welcome to Amanda Jones' Class

Hello All!

My name is Amanda Jones.  The 2021-2022 school year will be my seventh year of teaching at Hill City Elementary.  I am teaching first and second-grade math, science, and social studies while my partner and the wonderful, Mrs. Ashley Smith, teaches first and second-grade ELA.  For the past seven years, I have taught first-grade math, science, and social studies.  Last year Mrs. Smith and I were afforded the opportunity to teach both first and second grade. This will be our second year of teaching both first and second grade.

I am married to Jim and we have two daughters, Kelsi and Kami.  Kelsi is in college and Kami attends Pickens High School.  We also have a pug, basset hound, rabbit, and cat.  They keep us really busy and bring so much joy and love!

I received my Bachelor's degree in 2008 and my Master's degree in Elementary Education in 2020.  I am currently enrolled in Piedmont University's Specialist Curriculum and Instruction program.

In 2019-2020, I was honored to represent Hill City School as the Teacher of the Year!

I look forward to building relationships with you and your child this year.  Let's get ready to embark on this adventure together!
